Moisture is the essence of wetness

Yesterday was a perfect snorkel day. We headed out to what's sometimes called "the aquarium" and hung out there for a couple hours. The sun was shining, the water was clear, and steve just bought a dry bag especially made for his camera. So we took a few pictures, and after a little photoshopping the pitures look great. Now I need to get one for my camera. Its funny, there aren't many pictures of all the fish. All is vanity, eh?

The title of this one said it all. Suddenly your post had accompanying music (and attitude) in my head! Perfect.

mer-MAN! *cough cough*

So, how does one take pictures under water? Set it on auto and hope for the best? Is there an ISO and exposure setting you use? (Steve's swim suit looks radioactive in that one pic, hehe).

I was just thinking... how do you tell if a pic is any good, can you see the LCD well enough under water to see if you got a decent shot? PS... I just got another Canon SD10 off ebay (the first tiny camera that I bought, the one that died in Moab in March 2006). Yes, mikie will once again have a camera in his pocket all the time :D

p.s. the snorkeling looks like a blast. I mean, fish are interesting creatures, but overall I think humans are much more interesting, so no worries about the subjects of the photos ;) It's like if fish took pictures of these human visitors...

yeah, we just set the camera to auto. and no, unless the light is just right you can't see the lcd at all. sucks. although my camera's one where the lcd takes up the whole back of the camera - so i'm anxious to see if that makes a difference or not.

and i loved the little sd10. so tiny and cool.

Looks like pure heaven! Your underwater pictures are much better than ours. I think all the snow outside make the water look even more appealing.
