Lake Blanch
Just a quick photo post of the Lake Blanch hike I went on a little over a week ago. Man, it was the perfect day for it. The river was pretty intense:
Towards the top there was still quite a bit of snow (lots of slippin' and slidin'):
The temperature was perfect and the lake was beautiful. And of course, here's Sundial Peak:

Dude, is that the hike I missed out on just over a week ago when you were in town? Dang... looks gorgeous, I missed out.
(and partly what I mean is that those are awesome photos you took :))
where is that?
thanks mike. i figure it's hard to take a bad picture when your subject is that beautiful.
rene - it's up big cottonwood canyon in salt lake. Mill B South I think is the official name of the trail. one of my favorite hikes.
Nah it's actually pretty easy to take bad pics of good subjects ;) Those are very well framed and exposure looks good. Guess I'm gonna have to hit that hike one of these times...
ooo, that reminds me, i'd actually like to hike olympus one last time.
but man, if you can do olympus you can do blanche in your sleep. it's definitely worth the hike to splash your face with ice cold mountain lake water.
where is olympus?
geez, so many questions!
mt. olympus is just on the east side of salt lake. it's a good little hike.

haha, i'm not surprised there's a wiki entry for it. that's a really crappy picture of it, tho.
or you can go here for better pics -

- that's the olympus i know!
maybe ya'll should try the wellsvilles up here in cache valley. that's a serious 4 mile climb... absolutely wonderful view from the top. my favorite hike. did it 3 times last year. but yeah, comin' down is what kills ya.
its totally worth it.
Do you think I could just roll down? Without too many broken bones?
maybe if we formed some kind of padded capsule to put you in. it would still bowl over everyone in your path, but you would have less broken bones.
2 words: zip line. =P
